Our FRP walkway for solar rooftops is specifically engineered to provide safe maintenance access across photovoltaic panel arrays without adding excessive dead load to the roof structure. At just 2.8 psf for the 1.0-inch panel, these composite walkways weigh 80% less than equivalent steel grating, making them the ideal choice for weight-sensitive rooftop solar installations where structural loading is a critical concern.
The panels feature a molded-in grit surface that delivers exceptional slip resistance (wet COF 0.8+) even in rain, dew, or morning frost conditions commonly encountered on rooftops. Unlike aluminum or steel walkways, FRP will not corrode, rust, or conduct electricity — eliminating galvanic corrosion risk when in contact with solar panel aluminum frames and providing safety near electrical equipment.
UV-stabilized isophthalic polyester resin with a certified UV surface veil ensures long-term performance under direct sunlight exposure without fiber blooming or color fade. Panels are available in standard widths of 12 in to 36 in and custom lengths up to 12 ft, with modular interlocking joints for continuous walkway runs between solar panel rows.
