Overview

Premium FRP Grating Engineered for Offshore Oil & Gas Operations

Our FRP grating for offshore oil and gas platforms is manufactured using high-grade isophthalic polyester and vinyl ester resins reinforced with continuous E-CR glass fibers. This engineered composite delivers exceptional corrosion resistance against saltwater, hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and other aggressive chemicals commonly encountered in offshore production environments.

Each panel features a molded diamond-grit surface that provides superior slip resistance even when wet — achieving a wet COF of 0.8+ that exceeds OSHA and UK HSE offshore safety requirements. The lightweight construction (75% lighter than equivalent steel grating) drastically reduces topside structural loads, simplifying installation and extending platform life.

Available in custom panel sizes up to 4 ft × 20 ft with multiple resin systems, fire-retardant grades (ASTM E84 Class A), and UV-stabilized formulations. Our gratings comply with NORSOK M-001, DNV-OS-C501, and ISO 1461 offshore material standards.

Features & Benefits

FRP Grating for Offshore Oil & — Key Features

Advanced engineering for superior performance

Superior Corrosion Resistance

Vinyl ester resin matrix resists saltwater, H2S, crude oil, drilling fluids, and chemical washdowns. No rust, no pitting, no coating required — even after 25+ years of continuous exposure.

Lightweight — 75% Lighter than Steel

At one-quarter the weight of steel, our FRP grating reduces topside structural loading, enables faster installation without heavy lifting equipment, and lowers offshore logistics costs significantly.

OSHA-Compliant Slip Resistance

Molded diamond-grit surface delivers a wet coefficient of friction of 0.8+, exceeding OSHA and UK HSE offshore safety standards for walkways, platforms, and helideck access routes.

Fire Retardant — ASTM E84 Class A

Our fire-retardant grade achieves a flame spread index of ≤25 (Class A) per ASTM E84, meeting the stringent fire safety requirements of offshore platforms and FPSO vessels.

Non-Conductive & Non-Magnetic

FRP is electrically non-conductive and non-magnetic, eliminating galvanic corrosion risks when in contact with aluminum or steel substructures and ensuring safe operation near sensitive electronic equipment.

Low Lifecycle Cost

Zero maintenance — no painting, no galvanizing, no coatings. Over a 25-year offshore service life, FRP grating saves 40-60% in total ownership costs compared to steel alternatives.
